The ASICS Speed Race 5km and 10km events in Paris saw a thrilling competition with athletes like Likina Amebaw, Jemal Yimer, Hagos Gebrhiwet, and Caroline Nyaga emerge as winners. The women’s 10km race saw two Ethiopian runners, Amebaw and Chemnung, finish under 30 minutes. Amebaw won with a personal best of 29:56 while Chemnung followed closely behind just one second later.

Italy’s Nadia Battocletti set a new national record of 31:19 to finish in fourth place. In the men’s race, Yimer matched his personal best with a time of 27:43 to win ahead of Kenya’s Hillary Kipkoech and Vincent Kibet. Gebrhiwet, a multiple world and Olympic 5000m medallist, won the men’s 5km in 13:24 ahead of Mohamed Ismael and Adel Mechaal.

The women’s 5km race was dominated by Nyaga from Kenya who finished with a time of 14:40. She was followed by Uganda’s Joy Cheptoyek and Belinda Chemutai. The event was live-streamed for fans to follow along with the fast-paced races.

Overall, the ASICS Speed Race in Paris was an exciting event that showcased some of the top runners in the world. With two PB performances and two national records set during this competition, it is clear that these athletes are pushing themselves to be their best.
