Wade Phillips, at 76 years old, proved his coaching skills once again as he led the San Antonio Brahmas to a thrilling 18-9 victory over the Birmingham Stallions. This win marked the first loss for the previously undefeated Stallions in the UFL and snapped their 15-game winning streak dating back to May 13, 2023, against the Houston Gamblers.

The game came down to a crucial interception by linebacker Teez Tabor on the one-yard line with 22 seconds left on the clock. This interception sealed the victory for the Brahmas, preventing the Stallions from tying the game with a touchdown and three-point conversion. With this win, the Brahmas now hold a 7-2 record and have sole possession of first place in the XFL Conference.

The anticipation is high as these two teams are set to face each other in consecutive weekends, with the Battlehawks being tough contenders on their home turf. The Brahmas must secure a win in their final regular-season game in St. Louis to avoid a return visit next Sunday and maintain their chance of winning home-field advantage for the playoff game against St. Louis Battlehawks. Running back Anthony McFarland played a key role in this victory, accumulating 116 yards from scrimmage, with most of those coming from rushing yards.

Looking ahead, both teams will face off against different opponents in their final regular season games: The Arlington Renegades will meet up with Michigan Panthers while San Antonio Brahmas will take on Houston Gamblers next weekend before they compete for a spot in UFL Championship game against each other.
