Boulder County Public Health officials have shared some local health statistics in honor of National Public Health Week. Among the positive findings, it was noted that Boulder County has a low teen birth rate of five births per 1,000 females aged 15 to 19. Additionally, residents have easy access to various exercise opportunities as they all live close to a park or recreation facility.
However, there are areas of concern that were also brought to light. One of these is Boulder County’s high suicide rates, which surpass the national average. Another issue highlighted is the high levels of air pollution in the county, exceeding both state and national averages. These challenges indicate that there is still work to be done in improving the overall health and well-being of the community.
