Boeing engineer Sam Salehpour has accused the company of ignoring safety issues in the production of its 787 and 777 aircraft types. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has launched an investigation into these claims. According to Salehpour, he raised concerns about improper attachment of fuselage parts in the 787 Dreamliner, which could potentially cause mid-flight breakages as planes age.

Salehpour’s findings were shared with the aviation authority for further investigation. However, despite raising safety concerns with his superiors, he was transferred to work on the production of 777 planes. He later observed problems with the assembly of 777 fuselages as well.

Boeing has denied any wrongdoing and expressed full confidence in its 787 Dreamliner. However, Salehpour’s allegations have sparked a broader conversation about the safety of Boeing’s aircraft. In light of recent incidents such as a Boeing 737 Max plane experiencing mid-flight issues, the company has faced heightened scrutiny. The CEO has also announced plans to step down from his position at the end of the year.
