The BMW Group aims to further its leading position in the premium electric mobility sector with its electrification strategy and anticipates that battery-electric vehicles will account for over half of global vehicle sales by 2030. As part of the BMW Group, Rimac Technology will bring together their expertise in battery and electric drive systems with the BMW Group’s experience gained over more than 15 years.

The partnership between these two companies signifies a significant transition for Rimac Technology from a niche high-performance solutions supplier to a high-volume Tier 1 supplier. With their growth, including the opening of the Rimac Campus, Rimac Technology is well-positioned to deliver projects at the highest automotive standards. The specific form and scope of this strategic tie-up between the two partners will be announced at a later stage. Additionally, the BMW Group is preparing for the launch of its sixth generation of BMW eDrive technology, which promises to bring significant advancements in customer-relevant attributes like range and charging time.
