Bethany Lutheran College’s baseball team recently swept the series against Martin Luther College with a 15-3 win in seven innings at ISG Field. The game ended early due to the 10-run rule, following previous victories of 22-5 and 13-3 in the series.

Carter Seltz took the loss for MLC, giving up six earned runs in two innings, while John Lutzi secured the win for BLC, pitching all seven innings and allowing two earned runs with six strikeouts. At the plate, Parker Winghart went 2 for 4 with a double, Jackson Lindemann was 2-3, Mason Cox hit a two-run home run, and Caleb Heckendorf added a double for MLC.

Despite Cox’s home run in the fifth, MLC struggled to keep up with BLC’s offense. BLC scored consistently throughout the game, with multiple runs in four of the first five innings. With a record of 3-13 (0-3 in the conference), MLC will now face the University of Wisconsin – Superior. The game marked a tough loss for MLC against a strong opponent, but the team will look to bounce back in their upcoming matches.
