The Chicago Bears are set to draft a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming NFL draft. The team has traded their starting quarterback, Justin Fields, to the Pittsburgh Steelers, indicating their intention to select a new signal-caller. While USC quarterback Caleb Williams is considered the top candidate for the position, the Bears also have the No. 9 overall pick, which could be used to land another top-tier talent, such as a wide receiver.

Many experts predict that the Bears will choose a wideout with their second pick. Some even suggest Washington’s Rome Odunze as a potential selection. However, Marvin Harrison Jr., a star wide receiver from Ohio State, is scheduled to visit Chicago on Monday. Harrison Jr. is projected to be a high draft pick and could potentially go as high as No. 3 overall.

The Bears are considering following a similar strategy to the Houston Texans last year, who selected C.J. Stroud at No. 2 and then traded up to get Will Anderson at No. 3.

If they acquire Harrison Jr., pairing him with Keenan Allen and D.J. Moore would give their future quarterback an excellent group of receivers to work with and set them up for success.

While acquiring Harrison Jr may come at a high cost for the Bears, it could ultimately be worthwhile investment in building a talented receiving corps that can significantly improve their offensive capabilities and help their new quarterback thrive in the NFL.

In conclusion, while selecting a quarterback with the first pick is crucial for any team looking to rebuild its offense, investing in building a strong receiving corps can be just as important in helping that new signal-caller succeed in the league.
