Austin Area High School Sports Awards, presented by Thomas J. Henry Law, has announced the nominees for the Boys and Girls Basketball Players of the Year. These awards will be presented during a live show scheduled to take place on June 12 at The Long Center: Dell Hall in Austin. This program is part of a nine-month student-athlete recognition initiative that will culminate in a red-carpet show this spring. The show will shine a spotlight on athletes, coaches, and teams from the Austin region that participate in sanctioned Texas High School sports.
The nominees for Boys Basketball Player of the Year include players from schools such as Stony Point High School, St Michael’s Catholic Academy, Vandegrift High School, Lake Travis High School, Weiss High School, Johnson High School, Rouse High School, and more. On the other hand, the Girls Basketball Player of the Year nominees come from schools like Cedar Ridge High School, Westlake High School, Cedar Park High School, McCallum High School
