New charges have been brought against Elena Moreno, the owner of Angelic Monuments. Moreno is now facing a second-degree felony charge of theft between $30,000 and $150,000. This recent arrest comes after Moreno was previously taken into custody on March 16 for similar charges.

A family reported that they had paid Moreno $8,508.09 for a headstone that was never delivered. Moreno cited COVID-19 related delays, but failed to follow through with the headstone. When the family attempted to contact her, she was unresponsive. Other families who had purchased headstones from Moreno also reported similar issues.

Despite efforts to reach Moreno through email, social media, and visits to her listed businesses and home addresses, she did not respond. A total of 12 individuals came forward to report that they had paid Moreno for headstones that were never received, resulting in a combined total of $40,000 in losses.

Moreno was released on a $35,000 bond after her recent arrest and will await further legal proceedings. KSAT will continue to provide updates on the case as they become available.
