Bartlesville High Baseball Sweeps Muskogee in District Season Finale

Bartlesville High School’s baseball team concluded its 6A-District 3 season with a strong performance against Muskogee on Tuesday evening at Rigdon Field. The Bruins secured a two-game sweep over the Roughers, giving a memorable night to their senior players. In the final game of the series, Bartlesville emerged victorious with a score of 4-1.

The Bruins took control of the game early in the bottom of the fourth inning when they scored three runs, establishing a commanding 3-0 lead that they maintained until the end. A string of six consecutive batters reaching base, five of them through singles, allowed Bartlesville to score first. Brett Eaves’ base hit drove in Brenden Asher to kickstart the scoring, with help from a Muskogee error.

Asher pitched brilliantly in his final appearance at Bill Doenges Memorial Stadium as a Bruin. He delivered an outstanding complete seven innings performance, allowing only one unearned run while working around seven hits. Asher showcased his skills by striking out five of the seven batters in the last two innings, including a crucial strikeout to end the game.

With the District season now complete, Bartlesville will eagerly anticipate its Regional pairing as they prepare for the postseason. The playoffs are expected to begin next week on either Wednesday or Thursday, providing the team with an opportunity to continue their successful momentum.
