Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has established a new task force within the tax department to combat criminal organizations in the Arab sector through economic measures and leverage. The creation of this group was announced on Thursday, April 18, by Roi Kahlon, head of the department of the head of government’s ministry for combating crime in the Arab sector, and Shai Aronovich, director of the tax department.

According to a statement from the press service of the head of government, an economic component is a significant factor in the strength of criminal organizations and is key to their dismantling. The task force will focus on developing a plan for economic warfare against these criminal organizations and preparing a strategic program that aims to deliver a fatal economic blow to these entities.

The goal of this initiative is to address criminal activities within the Arab sector by utilizing economic measures, which have been identified as crucial in both their growth and decline. By targeting these groups through economic tactics, the task force hopes to significantly weaken and ultimately eliminate their operations. The collaboration between the tax department and the ministry for combating crime in the Arab sector underscores the government’s commitment to addressing issues of crime and security within the Arab community.
