The Air Force Materiel Command website has announced the release of two funding opportunities through SpaceWERX. The programs are designed to support the delivery of capabilities needed by the Department of the Air Force (DAF) and provide financial assistance to transition Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) or Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) contracts into Phase III work.

The Strategic Funding Increase (STRATFI) program offers funding between $3 million and $15 million over 48 months, while the Tactical Funding Increase (TACFI) provides between $375,000 and $1.9 million over 24 months. These opportunities are available for Small Business Concerns with Phase II SBIR or STTR contracts that have been running for at least 90 days or completed within two years of submitting a capability package.

Interested parties must submit a capability package by April 12, as outlined in the latest notice of opportunity. Under the program year 24 rules, only an SBC’s government point of contact is eligible to submit the package on their behalf.
