In May, the Oregon Zoo bond will be on the ballot, and voters have the chance to support our local economy by approving it. The zoo is not only a fun and educational place for kids, families, and seniors, but it also plays a significant role in driving economic activity throughout the region.
The zoo is a popular destination, attracting over 1.3 million visitors annually, many of whom come from outside the area. These visitors contribute to the local economy by staying in hotels, shopping at local businesses, and dining at restaurants. The zoo’s impact goes beyond its own operations, creating a positive ripple effect that benefits the entire community.
Measure 26-244 will provide funding for much-needed infrastructure upgrades at the Oregon Zoo. These improvements will help the zoo continue to be a major economic driver for the region without raising current tax rates. Supporting the Oregon Zoo bond is a good deal for our local economy.
