Fiorentina are on the brink of acquiring former Milan midfielder Aster Vranckx in a €10m deal with Wolfsburg. Despite having a minimal impact during his loan spell with Milan last season, Vranckx opted to return to Germany instead of exercising the €12m buy option. With his contract set to expire in 2025 and Wolfsburg running out of time to sell him for a profit, the German club is now looking to offload him.

According to Sky Sport Italia reports, Vranckx has already agreed on personal terms with Fiorentina and is prepared to make the move back to Serie A. The clubs are currently working on finalizing the fee, with an expected total of €7m plus add-ons likely to reach the €10m asking price. Currently, Vranckx is part of the Belgium national team for EURO 2024.

Fiorentina’s new coach Raffaele Palladino is overseeing changes at the club and sees Vranckx’s versatility in central midfield positions as an asset in their squad reshaping plans. Both parties are eager to finalize the deal, indicating that Vranckx’s return to Serie A may be imminent.
