Six Northern Michigan University students have formed a new business called Wildcat Snow & Lawn to help the Marquette community with affordable snow removal and lawn care services. As part of an entrepreneurship class project, the group has been working hard to develop a successful business in just one semester.
Creating the business has been a fast-paced learning experience for the students, who have had to streamline their planning and focus on implementing their services efficiently. From booking appointments to creating a website, they are working tirelessly to make their business a success.
Wildcat Snow & Lawn offers a range of services, from mowing lawns for as little as $15 to more extensive lawn care for larger yards at a price ranging from $30-$40. The group had to cancel their first spring clean-up job due to the snow, but they have two future jobs lined up and are looking for more clients to sign up.
Although the students are not making any money from the business yet, they are donating all proceeds to Habitat for Humanity. This semester-long project will last until the end of April, so those interested in signing up for snow or lawn care services should do so before then. Wildcat Snow & Lawn serves anyone within a half-hour radius of Marquette.
