WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature that allows users to view ephemeral photos and videos only once. If you want to save these images or videos, there are several options available.

For Android phone users, taking a screenshot is a classic method. However, it’s important to note that the native function may not work for these types of images, so using a dedicated app is recommended. To capture a screenshot, simply open WhatsApp, navigate to the chat with the photo or video you want to save, open the image or video, and take a screenshot.

For iPhone users, AssistiveTouch can be used to take a screenshot without pressing any buttons. Simply double tap on your AssistiveTouch when viewing the image you want to save.

If you need to capture a one-time viewing video, screen recording apps like Screen Recorder for Android devices can be used. These apps typically require permission to use the camera and microphone on your device. Once granted, you can record the video and save it to your gallery.

For iPhone users, the built-in iOS screen recording tool can also be used if root access is not available on an Android device. Alternatively, if root access is available on an Android device, a file explorer can be used to locate the folder where these ephemeral photos are stored.

It’s important to inform your contact if you plan on saving their photo or video for future reference. By following these steps, you can securely save these one-time viewing media for future use.
