Tennessee has secured a commitment from highly sought-after defensive end Jayden Loftin, adding to its future talent on the edge. Loftin made his decision after a strong official visit to Knoxville, where he met with head coach Josh Heupel, defensive coordinator Tim Banks, defensive line coach Rodney Garner, and the rest of the Volunteers’ staff.

During his recruiting process, Loftin also visited several other schools such as Wisconsin and had official visits scheduled for Syracuse and Penn State. He received an offer from Nebraska and visited the school in May. In addition to these programs, Loftin had scholarship offers from several other schools, showcasing his talent as a highly sought-after recruit.

Loftin is known for his skills as a pass-rusher and disruptor in the run game, with impressive stats from his junior year of high school. He recorded 5.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, one interception, and 33 total tackles, contributing to his team’s playoff appearance. With his commitment, Tennessee now has 11 prospects in its 2025 recruiting class and has solidified its place in the top-25 national team rankings.
