Despite prior commitments, Virat Kohli may not participate in India’s T20 World Cup warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1. He has taken a short break from the game following the end of the IPL season. Sanju Samson, captain of Rajasthan Royals, and Hardik Pandya, captain of Mumbai Indians, are also arriving later than initially scheduled.

The first group of Indian players left on Saturday, with a second group set to depart on Monday. According to a BCCI official, Kohli’s visa appointment has been scheduled for a later date to accommodate his delayed arrival. Meanwhile, players like Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and others along with the support staff have already left Mumbai to prepare for the T20 World Cup.

India’s first match in the tournament is against Ireland on June 5, followed by games against Pakistan, United States, and Canada. Despite some players arriving late, the Indian team is focused on performing well in the tournament. Kohli’s absence will be felt as he was instrumental in leading India to victory in several IPL matches and holds the Orange Cap with 741 runs. However, his teammates are confident that they can handle any challenge thrown at them during the tournament.
