Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health is proud to be part of a special program aimed at improving vaccination rates among high-risk adults. This program is the result of a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) cooperative agreement awarded to the Council of Medical Specialty Societies (CMSS), with Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health participating through the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM).

The CDC identified the need to target adults in occupational health settings for improved vaccination rates, and the Council recognized that ACOEM members’ relationships with health systems and clinics could be beneficial for this initiative. As part of this agreement, ACOEM is partnering with health care systems to incorporate CDC standards for adult immunization practice, increase adult immunization through education, dissemination, and quality improvement initiatives.

Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health was selected as one of the clinical systems to participate in this outreach and is focusing on influenza and COVID-19 vaccines for the initial implementation. The initiative is expected to expand to include other employment-related vaccines such as Hepatitis B and tetanus by 2025. Through this effort, Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health aims to improve routine immunization coverage and the overall health of the workforce they serve.

If you are interested in more information about this program or want your workforce to receive more information on vaccinations please contact Froedtert & MCW Workforce Health. Froedtert Health’s participation in ACOEM’s Vaccine Initiative is supported by the CDC of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as part of a financial assistance award to CMSS, with 100% funding provided by CDC/HHS.
