UW-Whitewater’s baseball team made history this past May 25th when they secured their spot in the NCAA Division III Baseball World Series with two impressive wins over Prucha Field at Jim Miller Stadium. The Warhawks won 8-0 and 8-2, making it their eighth appearance in the series and their first since 2016.

The Pool Play double-elimination games for the championship will take place at Classic Auto Group Park in Eastlake, Ohio from May 31 to June 6th. This is noteworthy as it marks the third consecutive season that a team from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is participating in the World Series. In fact, UW-La Crosse kicked off the best-of-three series with a win of 3-2 against UW-Whitewater.

The Eagles ended their season with a record of 36-16 and their eighth NCAA appearance. However, it was not enough to stop UW-Whitewater from securing their spot in the Super Regional against them. In the series-clinching game, UW-Whitewater took an early lead thanks to Eli Frank’s two-run home run in the third inning. They continued to add runs and eventually secured their victory over UW-La Crosse.

Jack Hagen pitched a complete game for UW-Whitewater, improving his record to 9-0 for the season. Aaron Holland, Paden, and Frazer also had notable offensive performances for the Warhawks. On the other hand, UW-La Crosse had multiple hits from VandenHeuvel and Olver but it was not enough to overcome UW
