The University of Utah Health Plans was founded in 1998 as a Medicaid plan and currently serves over 240,000 members in the Mountain West region. It specializes in administering medical, mental health, and pharmacy benefits for various government programs such as Medicaid and CHIP, as well as fully insured and self-funded employer groups, individuals, and families.

Families can apply for CHIP at any time through MyCase or by calling 1-877-543-7669. If you are currently on CHIP and need help or have questions about changing your CHIP plan, you can call a Health Program Representative at 866-608-9422. Open enrollment takes place from May 15 through June 15 during which you can change your existing plan.
