This week, the cities of Kissimmee and St. Cloud are hosting events specifically aimed at helping small businesses in the area thrive. The City of St. Cloud Economic Development Office is hosting a free Business Expo on Friday from 9 a.m. to noon in the Magnolia Room at the St. Cloud Community Center, while the City of Kissimmee’s Economic Development Department is organizing a workshop on Wednesday at the Kissimmee Civic Center from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

The workshop is designed to assist participants in kick-starting their business ideas by walking them through the city’s Business Model Canvas to refine business plans. Limited space is available for this free opportunity, so interested individuals should register at www.kissimmee.gov/springintobusiness beforehand to secure their spot.

On the other hand, the Business Expo in St. Cloud is intended to help local businesses connect with various resources to ensure their success. According to City of St. Cloud Economic Development Director Antranette Forbes, they are collaborating with organizations from Central Florida to create a one-stop business resource expo where businesses can learn about available resources and assistance programs in the area. City departments will also be present to discuss the services they offer, and attendees can ask any questions they may have by calling 407-957-7234 without registration or cost for attending this event
