The debate among college football fans about which stadium is the best in the sport and within each conference has been ongoing. While some argue that it’s Penn State’s Beaver Stadium or Washington’s Husky Stadium, others believe that The Big House in Ann Arbor is the best.
Recently, Tom Fornelli of CBS Sports ranked all 18 Big Ten stadiums, with The Big House coming in at No. 3. When Fornelli first saw Michigan Stadium from the outside, he wasn’t impressed. However, upon entering, he was struck by the sheer size of the venue. With over 107,000 fans filling the stands on game days, opponents are completely surrounded, and the closest seats are practically on the sidelines with the players.
Michigan Stadium falls behind only Penn State’s Beaver Stadium and Washington’s Husky Stadium in Fornelli’s ranking. It surpasses stadiums like Oregon and Ohio State but also others in the Big Ten such as USC. Despite its grand size and impressive capacity, some still argue that it doesn’t measure up to other great venues. However, Fornelli disagrees and believes that The Big House is a formidable venue for college football games.
