Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology Development and Digital Transformation Minister Mykhailo Fedorov made the announcement on Telegram.

The launch took place in several locations around the world, including the Promprylad Innovation Center in Ivano-Frankivsk, Vodafone Office in Kyiv, and Nokia Office in Helsinki. Here, a successful 5G call was made to test the connection quality.

Fedorov thanked Vodafone and Nokia for taking an important step towards the implementation of 5G in Ukraine and expressed hope that the technology would soon be scaled up for wider use. The European Union plans to have all cities and main roads covered with 5G by the year 2025.
