Uganda put up a strong fight in their recent match against the West Indies, especially with their bowling performance. Despite a disappointing 18-run over from Cosmas Kyewuta in the final over, Uganda displayed excellent death bowling throughout the match.

The African side started well with tight lines and managed to keep the West Indies’ strong batting lineup in check. However, a decision to take Alpesh Ramjani off after an economical first over backfired as Johnson Charles took advantage of the pacers and found his rhythm. The move was risky, but it paid off as Ramjani was reintroduced in the 5th over and immediately made an impact.

As field restrictions eased after the Powerplay, Uganda’s spinners played a crucial role in pulling things back in the middle phase of the innings. The team did well to contain boundaries at the death, with only one hiccup coming from Kyewuta’s final over where he struggled to find his mark. Despite this last over slip-up, Uganda can still be proud of their fight with the ball, limiting the West Indies to a total of 173 runs. It was a strong effort from Uganda and they will look to build on this bowling performance in their upcoming matches.
