Dr. Thani Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and his delegation visited Kuwait to attend the “Emirati Companies Exhibition and Forum” aimed at exploring opportunities in the Kuwaiti market. During their visit, they met with Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of Kuwait, and UAE Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Matar Hamid Al Neyadi.

The meeting between the two leaders focused on enhancing trade and investment relations between the UAE and Kuwait. They emphasized the strong and sustainable strategic partnership that exists between the two countries, with economic, trade, and investment relations being at its core. The leadership of both countries is committed to advancing these relations for the benefit of their people.

Dr. Zeyoudi highlighted the mutual commitment of both countries to advance their strategic partnership for economic growth and prosperity. He also emphasized that fostering closer economic relations would benefit not only both countries but also enhance regional trade cooperation.

The UAE delegation engaged in discussions with Kuwaiti officials to explore ways to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries. They exchanged ideas on enhancing economic cooperation and investment opportunities between them. The participants shared insights on how to improve trade facilitation and promote business prospects in both countries.

The exhibition showcased 20 of the largest Emirati companies across various sectors in various markets globally, including Kuwait’s oil industry sector. The event included presentations on investment opportunities, trade facilitation, and partnership prospects for businesses in both countries. It brought together leading Emirati companies seeking business opportunities in Kuwait’s growing market while strengthening their presence in it.

Kuwait has continued its longstanding trade relations with its neighboring country, with non-oil trade reaching 45 billion dirhams in 2023 alone; making it one of Kuwait’s second-largest trading partners globally after China.

Overall, this exhibition was an excellent opportunity for Emirati companies to explore new business opportunities while promoting closer economic relations between them.
