U.S. Rep. Terri Sewell of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District is celebrating National Small Business Week by highlighting the importance of small businesses to the local economy through a Small Business Tour. During her tour, Rep. Sewell visited four local businesses to showcase their impact and emphasize the significance of supporting small businesses.

Rep. Sewell expressed admiration for the small businesses in Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, acknowledging their essential role in the community. She stressed that small businesses are vital to the country’s economy and pledged to support their growth.

Earlier in the week, Rep. Sewell visited The Coffee Shoppe in Selma, which will receive the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2024 Phoenix Award for Outstanding Disaster Recovery Efforts. She will be hosting a virtual discussion with owner Jackie Smith as part of her “Terri Talks” series, which will be live-streamed on her social media platforms.

During her tour, Rep. Sewell visited Travis Chicago Style, a popular food truck known for its delicious Polish sausage and bear burger. She also stopped by Alabama Goods, a retail store in Homewood specializing in locally made products, and Bearden Design, a boutique offering unique women’s clothing from around the world.

National Small Business Week runs from April 28 to May 4, 2024 and celebrates the hard work, creativity and dedication of small businesses across the country. It recognizes their significant contributions to the economy and encourages support for local small businesses.

Rep. Sewell urged everyone to celebrate National Small Business Week by shopping local and supporting small businesses.
