President Donald Trump recently called for President Joe Biden to take a cognitive test, but while speaking at a convention in Detroit, he accidentally misnamed the doctor who tested him in 2018. Trump referred to Texas Republican Ronny Jackson as “Doc. Ronny Johnson,” despite Jackson’s role as the White House physician from 2013 to 2018.

Trump praised Jackson for his assessment in 2018, where he stated that Trump had no mental ability issues and was the healthiest president in history. Jackson had said that Trump was very sharp and articulate, and he had received a perfect score on a dementia test. However, this assessment seems to be contradictory to Trump’s recent call for Biden to take a cognitive test.

The Trump campaign has criticized Biden’s cognitive abilities, with Trump’s spokesperson calling him a “brain-dead zombie” after a video surfaced of Biden seemingly wandering off during the G7 summit. However, it was later shown that the video was cropped, and a wider angle revealed that Biden was simply turning to face a skydiver who had landed nearby. This back and forth between the two sides highlights the ongoing political tensions in the United States, with both camps attacking each other’s cognitive abilities and character. Despite these attacks, it is important to focus on policy and governance rather than personal attacks and misrepresentations.
