On Patton Road in Devens, Massachusetts, a truck crashed into the TaraVista Behavioral Health Care Center and caught fire at around 5:30 a.m., according to authorities. The incident was believed to be intentional, with the driver having a family member who had received treatment at the facility previously.

The truck crashed into the administration offices of the facility, which were unoccupied at the time of the crash. Despite this, there were no injuries reported among patients or staff inside the building. The patient rooms were not damaged and the building remains structurally sound.

Investigations are currently underway by both state police and the state Fire Marshal’s Office to determine more about what caused this tragic incident. The identity of the driver has not yet been disclosed, but CEO Francis Sauvageau of Taravista and MiraVista Behavioral Health Centers commended his staff for ensuring that all patients remained safe during the emergency.

Although this event has taken place, Taravista is still operational and will resume accepting new patients on Thursday as planned. With a capacity for 117 patients, Taravista remains fully occupied. Family members with concerns are encouraged to contact 978-615-5200 for additional information.
