The Technology in Schools Program of the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians Foundation is currently accepting grant applications for the 2024-2025 school year. This program aims to improve classroom technology for students in Santa Barbara County by providing funding for specific technology projects. School administrators and faculty members can apply for grants to cover expenses such as purchasing hardware, upgrading infrastructure, incorporating high-tech resources, and enhancing curriculum offerings.

Since its inception in 2015, the Technology in Schools Program has awarded more than $430,000 in grants to local schools. The latest recipients for the 2023-2024 school year include Cabrillo High School, Santa Ynez Valley Christian Academy, Carpinteria High School, Lompoc High School, Dunn School, and La Honda STEAM Academy.

The foundation’s annual charity golf tournament in 2015 contributed to funding technology grants for four local schools, leading to the creation of the Technology in Schools Program. For more information and to access the grant application, individuals can visit www.chumash.gov/foundation or contact 805-688-7997.
