Derek Connolly, who has a history of working with director Trevorrow and has penned scripts for various successful films, including Jurassic World, Kong: Skull Island, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and Detective Pikachu, is set to write the script for an upcoming Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover film. The movie will star Chris Hemsworth and bring together two of Hasbro’s biggest toy lines. This crossover project will pit the Autobots and G.I. Joe heroes against the Decepticons and Cobra, marking the first time these characters will team up on screen.

The proposed film follows the events of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which concluded with Anthony Ramos’ character receiving a job offer from the Joes. The movie is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy, with Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment serving as executive producers.

Connolly’s most recent project was Sony and Nintendo’s adaptation of The Legend of Zelda, where he worked alongside Wes Ball as they brought this beloved video game series to life on the big screen.
