The Wharton Sports Analytics and Business Initiative (WSABI) has announced the top six teams that will advance to the first finals of the inaugural Wharton High School Data Science Competition: Soccer Playoff Predictions. Out of the 25 semifinalists who were chosen to submit slide presentations on March 22, these six teams have been selected based on their exceptional analysis of data from a simulated professional soccer league since February 2024.

The final event will take place virtually on Wednesday, April 3, where these finalist teams will present their findings to a panel of judges. The finalist teams include CR North, FC TAMS, HW_AnalyticsFC, MVHS Analytics, SMGolden State Analytics, and STEM Wolves, all from high schools in different states.

WSABI is thrilled to see the remarkable work that these students have done and looks forward to announcing the winners of this competition.
