Tiger Woods, a golf legend, has been granted a lifetime exemption by the PGA Tour to participate in all of its designated ‘signature’ events. Despite his remarkable career, which includes 82 PGA Tour titles and 15 major wins, Woods has faced challenges with injuries in recent years. However, the PGA Tour recently recognized his extraordinary achievements and created a special exemption for him to play in the eight prestigious tournaments that do not include majors.

Woods’ career on the PGA Tour is marked by many milestones. He tied with Sam Snead for the most overall victories on the tour and was second on the all-time list for major wins behind Jack Nicklaus. However, he has faced setbacks due to serious leg injuries that required surgery. Woods has only competed in nine tournaments since a car crash in February 2021, but he remains determined to continue competing despite struggling to make the cut in most tournaments.

The PGA Tour’s policy board voted unanimously to grant Woods a lifetime exemption after considering his career achievements and recognizing his value to the sport. The board also acknowledged that Woods still had much left to accomplish on the course and that he deserved every opportunity to continue competing at a high level.

Woods is expected to participate in several upcoming events as part of his new exemption, including the Open Championship in Scotland in July. His fans are eagerly awaiting his return to competition and hoping that he will continue making history on the course as he always did throughout his illustrious career.
