Talladega Superspeedway saw a dramatic conclusion on Sunday as Tyler Reddick claimed victory after a thrilling race. The incident occurred at the checkered flag when leader Michael McDowell crashed while trying to block Brad Keselowski, resulting in a multi-car crash that saw Corey LaJoie slide across the finish line on his side.

McDowell was leading the race and attempted to block Keselowski as he made a move high on the track. Keselowski then moved down, causing their cars to make contact. This sent McDowell into the wall and triggered a chain reaction involving several other cars.

Despite the chaos, Reddick managed to navigate through and take home his first victory of the season and sixth of his career. Keselowski finished in second place for the second consecutive race, while Noah Gragson achieved a career-best third-place finish. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. managed to secure fourth place by navigating through the madness on track.

Reddick’s win continued an impressive streak of eight consecutive different winners at Talladega, marking one of the most exciting races of the season so far. The 188-lap race featured 73 lead changes among 23 different drivers, breaking records since the introduction of the Next Gen car in 2022. There were four cautions for a total of 21 laps, with Austin Cindric winning Stage 1 and Joey Logano claiming victory in Stage 2.

The next race in the series will take place on April 28 at Dover, airing at 2 p.m. ET on FS1, promising yet another thrilling showdown between some of NASCAR’s top drivers.
