The Hartford Yard Goats staged a remarkable comeback in their game against the Portland Sea Dogs, rallying from a 4-1 deficit to win 12-5 in an Eastern League matchup in Hartford, Connecticut. This marked the third straight game in which the Yard Goats came from behind to secure a victory.

Nick Yorke had a strong showing for the Sea Dogs, going 2 for 4 and scoring twice. Portland initially took a 4-1 lead after Yorke’s two-run double and an RBI triple by Matthew Lugo in the third inning. However, the Sea Dogs’ bullpen struggled to maintain the lead, ultimately leading to their defeat.

Sterlin Thompson played a crucial role in the Yard Goats’ comeback, going 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and three RBI. His performance helped propel the team to move ahead of Portland in the Northeast Division standings. Pitcher Wikelman Gonzalez had a solid performance for Portland, striking out eight batters and allowing only one hit through five innings.

The Sea Dogs will look to bounce back as they begin a six-game homestand against the Reading Fightin Phils on Tuesday.
