The T20 World Cup semi-final race in Group 1 has become increasingly exciting as India has secured their spot in the semis after beating Australia by 24 runs on Monday. However, there are still three teams in the group that have not yet been eliminated – Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Australia.

According to the points table, India is currently leading with six points, three games, and a positive net run rate of +2.017. Australia is in second place with two points, three games, and a negative net run rate of -0.331. Afghanistan and Bangladesh are both tied for third place with two points each but different net run rates. Afghanistan’s NRR is -0.650 while Bangladesh’s NRR is -2.489.

If Afghanistan wins their next match against Bangladesh, they will qualify for the semis with four points and become the second team from Group 1 to advance to the Super 8 stage. However, if they lose to Bangladesh with a margin of less than 61 runs or outside 13 overs, they will be out of contention for the semis.

Bangladesh can also qualify for the semis if they beat Afghanistan by a big margin (by 61 runs if they score 160 or chase the target in 13 overs). On the other hand, Australia can only enter the semis if Afghanistan loses to Bangladesh with a margin of less than 61 runs or outside 13 overs.

In Monday’s match between India and Australia, Rohit Sharma scored an incredible 92 off just 41 balls to help India secure their spot in the semis with a victory of 24 runs over Australia. Rohit hit eight sixes and seven fours during his knock, which propelled India to an imposing total of 205 for five. In reply, Australia was restricted to just 181 for seven in the stipulated twenty overs. Travis Head top-scored for Australia with a score of 76 off forty-three balls while Arshdeep Singh ended with figures of 3/37 among Indian bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav (2/24) also performed brilliantly in the middle overs
