Google has announced the end of support for its Nest Secure home security system, which includes the alarm system that works with the Nest app and its Dropcam surveillance cameras. The Nest Secure ecosystem was launched in 2017 and consists of several devices such as the Nest Guard alarm system, keypad, microphone, Nest Tag key fob, and Nest Detect sensor. This means that users will no longer receive updates or technical support for these devices after April 8th.

In addition to discontinuing the Nest Secure system, Google has also announced that it will no longer be supporting its Dropcam surveillance cameras. These cameras offer live or delayed video surveillance services and allow for continuous recording of up to one hundred hours. However, Google has provided an alternative for users in the form of the ADT Self Setup system, which integrates with Google Nest devices such as smart doorbells and cameras.

The ADT Self Setup system was launched in March 2023 and offers a reliable solution for home security. By transitioning to this system, users can continue to enjoy smart home security and surveillance benefits. This new system provides seamless integration with other Google Home devices and is easy to set up on your own without professional assistance.
