The 2024 NBA offseason is in full swing for the Boston Celtics, who recently won their 18th championship against the Dallas Mavericks. While the team is still celebrating, President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens and his front office are already gearing up for the next steps.
Next week will mark the start of offseason duties for the Celtics as they prepare for the 2024 NBA Draft on Wednesday and free agency shortly after. This year, the team holds the 30th and 54th overall picks in the draft, and with only a few impending unrestricted free agents, their focus will be on securing key players to strengthen their roster.
Two standout players, Jayson Tatum and Derrick White, are set to become free agents in 2025. With a supermax extension likely for Tatum, and White expected to secure a long-term deal with the team, this offseason will see them looking to add depth to their roster. Additionally, Luke Kornet, Xavier Tillman Sr., and Svi Mykhailuk are all slated for free agency.
After the NBA Draft and free agency, the team will turn its attention to Summer League where emerging talents like Jordan Walsh and JD Davison will have a chance to shine. The Summer League runs from July 12 to 22 and provides opportunities for young players to showcase their skills and potential.
Summertime will also see Celtics players Jayson Tatum Jrue Holiday representing Team USA at Paris Olympics from July 27th to August 11th . Derrick White is also rumored to be a strong candidate to replace Kawhi Leonard on roster giving Celtics fans more reasons to look forward during off season.
