In the second episode of Season 3 of The Bear, it is revealed that Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) will not be an official partner in the restaurant she is developing with Carmy (Jeremy Allen White). Despite assumptions made in the previous season, Sydney will not be forgoing six months of her salary for nothing. When Carmy mentions to Sydney that she will need to sign some paperwork to make her partnership official, it comes as a surprise to Sydney.

Edebiri explains that like the audience, Sydney was not sure what to believe last season when developing The Bear with Carmy, Natalie, and Uncle Jimmy. She continues to question what Carmy’s gestures truly mean and is unsure of his intentions. Throughout the season, Sydney will be trying to decode Carmy’s actions as part of her journey.

In Episode 6, Edebiri steps into the director’s chair, expressing her emotional reaction to the script during the premiere event. She describes it as beautifully written and was moved by it, feeling honored that Chris Storer had her in mind to direct it. All episodes of The Bear Season 3 are currently streaming on Hulu.
