A large crack on the A13 motorway connecting the Paris ring road to A86 has caused its closure in both directions since Thursday evening. The Hauts-de-Seine prefecture announced that it will remain closed until at least Monday, with a potential reopening next week depending on further studies. An update on the situation will be provided on Monday.

The closure was necessary to ensure the safety of users, as a crack between the viaduct and the Saint-Cloud tunnel was detected as the cause of the closure. Further investigations are being conducted to determine the reasons behind the ground movement that led to this crack. The movement of the ground also caused cracks in a sewerage structure underneath the motorway.

The A13 motorway is a heavily used route for travelers heading west of Paris towards Normandy. The closure has caused significant disruptions in traffic, prompting the Hauts-de-Seine prefecture to advise travelers to choose alternative routes like A15 or A86 and avoid the affected area if possible.
