A study by LG on ‘Television Consumption Habits’ revealed that 90 percent of Spanish homes prefer to watch content on televisions, especially families with children. Despite the shift towards streaming platforms among younger users, television remains the go-to platform for watching different types of content, particularly in households with children. The study also found that parental control functions are commonly activated on televisions in these households, ensuring that minors watch appropriate content.

To cater to the changing needs of families, LG has developed solutions such as the webOS operating system found in its televisions. This system offers options to block certain content, limit viewing time, and track usage through the Screen Time Report tool. LG also introduced the LG StandbyME, a portable and touch smart TV that enhances parental control capabilities and allows users to control what is being viewed and monitor screen time.

The LG StandbyME has become a valuable tool for families seeking to manage their television viewing habits in a more controlled manner. By promoting safe and age-appropriate entertainment options through features like parental controls and screen time monitoring, LG aims to provide a wholesome viewing experience for users. Through continuous innovation and user-centric design, LG strives to address the evolving needs of families and enhance their entertainment experience.
