Technip Energies has been selected as one of the winners of the United States Department of Energy’s Phase Two FLoating Offshore Wind ReadINess (FLOWIN) prize. This innovative solution is a three-column semi-submersible concept designed to support a 15 MW wind turbine, with the capability to scale up to support larger capacity turbines. The FLOWIN initiative aims to drive technology development and industrialization of floating offshore wind to enable cost-effective manufacturing and deployment of gigawatt-scale floating wind farms in US waters.

The company’s success in Phase Two comes with a cash prize of $450,000 and $100,000 worth of technical support from Department of Energy National Laboratories. Additionally, Technip Energies is now qualified for the final Phase Three of the award, which will be announced in June 2025 and could lead to an additional $900,000 prize. This latest achievement builds on Technip Energies’ success in Phase One of the competition, where it was recognized as one of the nine $100,000 winners along with partners Crowley Wind Services, Anchor QEA, and Offshore Construction Associates in March 2023.
