The ongoing ban on travel to Russia for Tajik citizens is due to the recent actions of Russia in relation to the fire at the Moscow concert hall. Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Muhriddin has advised citizens not to travel to Russia unless it is absolutely necessary.

In March, Tajikistan arrested nine individuals suspected of being connected to the Moscow concert hall attack, where over 130 people died. The attack was claimed by the jihadist organization Isis, with the actual perpetrators believed to be from the Central Asian branch of Isis-K. Some of the terrorist suspects arrested were reported to be Tajik citizens.

The situation surrounding the ban on travel to Russia for Tajik citizens is ongoing and continues to be monitored by authorities. The safety and security of Tajik individuals in relation to events like the Moscow concert hall attack are a top priority for both Tajikistan and Russia.
