On Sunday (31 March), in the uneven bars final at the FIG World Challenge Cup in Antalya, Turkey, Rebecca Andrade finished in second place with a score of 14.067. The 24-year-old Brazilian gymnast was just half a point behind French Olympian Melanie de Jesus dos Santos, who took first place. British gymnast Georgia-Mae Fenton took third place with a score of 13.767.

In the vault final, Oksana Chusovitina had two solid performances and scored an average of 12.917, which was enough to secure second place behind Tjasa Kysselef of Slovenia, who scored 13.017. Chusovitina will have another chance to qualify for Paris at May’s Asian Championships on home soil in Tashkent.

On home soil in Turkey, Adem Asil won the floor event with a score of 14.400 but had to settle for second place on rings, coming in just behind his teammate and 2019 world champion Ibrahim Colak. Jordan’s Ahmad Abu Al Soud took victory on the pommel horse with a score of 14.900, narrowly beating out Nariman Kurbanov of Kazakhstan, who is the successor to the Asian champion title.

Later that day at the competition, Rio 2016 balance beam gold medalist Sanne Wevers of the Netherlands was set to compete in her signature event, and Brazilian teammate Jade Barbosa was also scheduled to perform her viral routine to Britney Spears’ ‘…Baby One More Time’.
