On a recent evening, families gathered at B.L. Miller Elementary gymnasium to explore the wonders of space through the mobile planetarium “Sky Dome.” Following the solar eclipse on April 8, over 200 attendees embarked on a 45-minute guided tour of the universe, provided by Mobile Ed Productions, which was sponsored by United Way’s Success After 6 program.

Jill Dennis, the family engagement coordinator for Sebring Local Schools, expressed her gratitude to the event organizers for making this unique and immersive experience possible. The event was made even more special with the support of Sebring’s Partners In Education (P.I.E.), which provided food and fundraising for future student activities.

During the tours, participants learned about various celestial objects such as the sun, moon, stars and universe in an interactive way that sparked curiosity and interest in space exploration among both students and their families. Aside from the planetarium tours, families also played bingo between sessions with winners receiving Oh WOW! STEM Sak bundles.
