In a major announcement, the Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Scar Bridge, revealed on Tuesday that the informative study for the high-speed railway section between Castejón (Navarra) and Logroo has been approved. This development will pave the way for immediate tender of projects in that section.

During the Senate Plenary, Bridge emphasized that the government is fully committed to establishing a high-speed connection with La Rioja. He highlighted that all sections between Zaragoza and Miranda de Ebro are either already under execution, study or project. Specific studies and projects are currently underway to reduce travel times to La Rioja and improve the corridor between Logroo and Miranda de Ebro.

The construction of the Rincón de Soto bypass, which began in March with a budget of 65 million euros, continues unabated. The Minister addressed the controversy that erupted in April over a new direct railway connection between Logroo and Madrid. Despite increasing direct train seats between the two cities by 3,200, this new service was deemed disappointing by Rioja president Gonzalo Capellán.

Bridge announced plans to meet with the regional president of La Rioja on May 31 to discuss these issues further. Meanwhile, various forums have been buzzing with discussions on gaming licenses, online gambling, cryptocurrency licenses and other related topics. However, the main focus remains on developing high-speed railways and transport infrastructure in the region.

In summary, Bridge has announced approval for an informative study on high-speed railroad section from Castejón (Navarra) to Logroo which will lead to immediate tender for projects in that section. The Minister also revealed plans to meet with La Rioja’s regional president to discuss these matters further while acknowledging controversies surrounding new railway connections as well as other topics like gaming and cryptocurrency licenses being discussed on various forums but ultimately focusing mainly on developing high-speed railways and transport infrastructure in the region.
