South Dakota Bureau of Information and Telecommunications is looking for a new Chief Technology Officer to replace Pat Snow, who will be retiring after nearly 30 years of service in state government. Jeff Clines, the state’s Chief Information Officer, recently announced on LinkedIn that they will be hiring a new CTO to take over from Snow.
Snow began his career in state government in 1996 as a network technologies manager and has held various positions since then. He served as the state’s CIO in April 2018 before Heather Perry took over and was later appointed as the interim CIO by Gov. Kristi Noem in 2019.
In an interview with StateScoop last November, Snow mentioned that South Dakota is focused on several significant IT modernization projects, including the development of the state’s enterprise identity platform and the digitization of various services. Approximately 120 services have already been moved online, with plans to continue releasing new digital services on a quarterly basis in the future. The state needs an exceptional technology leader to take over from Snow, who has provided dedicated service to the State of South Dakota for many years.
