A fire has caused significant damage to Smitty K’s Sports Bar and Grill in Brazos County, forcing the popular establishment to close its doors until further notice. The incident happened just after midnight on Saturday near Highway 30 and Bird Pond Road. Witnesses reported seeing smoke pouring out of the windows at around 12:30 a.m., prompting an emergency call to 911.

According to management, the fire appears to have started in the kitchen, although the exact cause is still unknown. Luckily, the staff had closed for the night at midnight, and no one was injured in the incident. The management expressed gratitude towards the Bryan and College Station Fire Departments as well as the Brazos County Sheriff’s Department for their quick response to the fire.

In a statement, Smitty K’s expressed their sadness over losing their business but emphasized their gratitude for the safety of their staff and customers. The bar and grill will remain closed until further notice while they assess the extent of the damage and work on plans for rebuilding. All rights reserved.
