Hair loss is a common problem that affects both men and women. According to Dr. Nguyen Duy Quan from the Department of Skin Aesthetics at Ho Chi Minh City Dermatology Hospital, there are six main factors that can contribute to hair loss.

Firstly, consuming a diet that lacks enough protein can weaken your hair and cause it to fall out. It is recommended to consume around 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight each day to support healthy hair growth. If you follow a carnivore diet, you may be at risk for protein deficiency, which can lead to hair loss.

Secondly, vitamin deficiencies, particularly in Vitamin B12 and Vitamin D, can also contribute to hair loss. These vitamins play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy scalp and promoting hair growth. Eating foods rich in these vitamins or taking supplements may help prevent hair loss due to deficiency.

Thirdly, certain medications such as birth control pills containing progesterone can also be a cause of hair loss. If you are experiencing hair loss while taking birth control pills, it is advisable to consult with your doctor to explore alternative options.

Fourthly, hormonal changes during pregnancy can also lead to hair loss, which is a common occurrence that typically resolves itself within a few months after giving birth. Additionally, constantly tying your hair in a tight bun can cause tension and contribute to hair loss.

Lastly, chemical treatments such as perms, straightening and hair dye can weaken the strands and make them more prone to falling out. To maintain healthy hair it is important to limit exposure to these damaging factors by using gentle products on your locks and avoiding excessive heat styling.

By addressing these potential causes of hair loss, you can help promote healthier hair growth and prevent further loss.
