Texas Rep. Lloyd Doggett has called for President Joe Biden to end his campaign after a poor performance in last week’s CNN debate compared to Donald Trump. The 77-year-old representative argued that Biden, who is 81 years old, must make the difficult decision to withdraw from the race if he wants the Democratic Party to have the best chance of beating Trump in November.

Doggett highlighted that despite his achievements and commitment to the country, Biden’s performance in the debate failed to change the trend in polls that have kept him behind Trump for several months. He emphasized that it was time for Democrats to consider who had the most hope of saving democracy from an authoritarian takeover by Trump and his associates.

However, calls for Biden to withdraw from the race have been met with resistance from other prominent Democrats such as former Senator Claire McCaskill and Congressman Jamie Raskin. Even Vice President Kamala Harris is within striking distance of Trump without Biden in a hypothetical presidential race, according to a recent CNN poll.

Despite these challenges, Biden continues to receive support from his family and close advisors. Obama has reportedly shared his concerns about Biden’s reelection campaign with close associates, indicating growing unease within the Democratic Party. As debates over Biden’s candidacy intensify, Democrats face a challenging decision on how best to move forward in upcoming elections.

The ongoing debate over whether or not Joe Biden should continue running for president has brought forth concerns from various prominent Democrats about his ability to win against Donald Trump in November’s election. Despite calls for him to step down, such as those made by Texas Rep. Lloyd Doggett, others like former Senator Claire McCaskill and Congressman Jamie Raskin have raised their own reservations about his performance.

Vice President Kamala Harris has also been seen as a potential candidate if Biden were unable or unwilling to continue running.

Furthermore, a recent CNN poll showed that voters believed that Democrats would fare better if they did not have Joe Biden as their candidate.

As tensions rise between supporters of Joe Biden and critics of his campaign, it remains uncertain what direction the Democratic Party will take leading up to November’s election.

It is worth noting that while some politicians are calling for Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race due to poor performance during last week’s CNN debate compared with Donald Trump’s previous record on Twitter earlier this year when he ran a campaign ad where he was seen eating pizza with chopsticks using only one hand while holding out another hand with food on it
